Accessibility
Last updated: October 8, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use trysooth.net and the Sooth app, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion.
Our standard
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which is also the basis of the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549). We test every page with the axe-core accessibility engine on desktop and mobile, and check keyboard and reduced-motion use by hand.
What we do
- Text alternatives: every image has alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. The animated scenes have written descriptions, and the recovery timeline is also available as a plain list.
- Reduced motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, smooth scrolling, parallax and looping animations are turned off.
- Keyboard: all links, buttons, sliders and the breathing exercise can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Contrast and text: text meets WCAG AA contrast, and pages reflow and stay readable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
- Structure: pages use landmarks, a logical heading order and plain language.
The Sooth app
The iPhone app supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels, Reduce Motion (Soothie's animations hold still) and light and dark appearance.
Known limitations
The animations made with Rive draw on a canvas, so their visual details are described in text rather than read element by element. The phone screenshots show the app's interface as images; the features they show are also described in the text next to them.
Feedback
If something on this site or in the app is hard to use, please tell us at support@trysooth.net. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix problems as quickly as we can.
