Quit smoking, gently and for good.
Sooth helps you stop smoking cigarettes, rolling tobacco or cigarillos with a plan that fits you, SOS breathing for cravings, and a recovery timeline that shows your body healing hour by hour.
How Sooth helps you stop smoking
- A plan that fits. Quit cold turkey from today, or follow a gradual plan that lowers your daily limit every week until you reach zero.
- Help in the moment. Tap “Craving? Breathe for a minute” for a guided 4-7-8 breathing session with Soothie, our calm mascot.
- Know your triggers. Log cravings with intensity (mild to intense), trigger (stress, coffee, after a meal, alcohol, boredom, social, work, driving) and outcome.
- See the payoff. A live smoke-free counter, cigarettes not smoked, money saved and “life regained” (about 11 minutes for each cigarette avoided).
- Celebrate milestones. 170+ milestones for health, body, breathing, cravings, lifestyle and money.
- Always within reach. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Control Center and Live Activities.

Tips for your first week
- Pick your plan. Choose a quit date, or start a gradual plan today.
- Expect cravings, and time them. Most pass within minutes. Breathe slowly through one and notice it fade.
- Change the routine around your triggers. Coffee, meals and driving are common ones; log yours and look for patterns.
- Be kind to yourself. A slip is information, not failure.
Questions about quitting smoking
What is the best way to quit smoking?
The best way is the one you will stick with. Many people quit cold turkey; others cut down gradually to a quit date. Combining a plan with support, such as a quit app, counselling, nicotine replacement therapy or prescription medication, raises your chances. Sooth supports both cold turkey and gradual reduction.
How long do nicotine cravings last?
A single craving usually peaks and passes within a few minutes. Withdrawal is often strongest in the first three days and eases over the next few weeks. Slow breathing, a short walk or a glass of water can help you ride each craving out.
Is it better to quit cold turkey or gradually?
Both can work. Cold turkey gives a clear start; gradual reduction lowers your daily limit step by step (Sooth cuts it by a percentage you choose each week, 10% by default) so the change feels manageable.
What happens if I slip and smoke one cigarette?
One cigarette does not undo your progress. Log it, notice what triggered it, and keep going. In Sooth your quit date stays the same after a slip.
How much money will I save if I quit smoking?
It depends on how much you smoke and what you pay. At 15 cigarettes a day and $9 for a pack of 20, quitting saves about $2,460 a year and almost $25,000 in ten years. Sooth calculates your own figures from what you enter.
